A paleomagnetic study was carried out in the Gargano Peninsula on 37 sites (500 cores) of mainly Eocene age. Eight normal polarity directions can be interpreted either in terms of remagnetization, or of a small post Middle-Eocene counterclockwise rotation of Adriatic foreland with respect to stable Africa. The reverse directions seem to result from a widespread remagnetization. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1993 |
