Yamauchi, M., Woch, J., Lundin, R., Shapshak, M. and Elphinstone, R. (1993). A new type of ion injection event observed by Viking. Geophysical Research Letters 20: doi: 10.1029/93GL00855. issn: 0094-8276.

A new type of low energy (300 eV) population is absent, making the ion energy-time dispersion very weak. Third, this event does not seem to be related to either any solar wind density increase or southward/disturbed interplanetary magnetic field conditions. These observations suggest that this a more stagnant phenomenon, and we propose to call this a ''Stagnant Plasma Injection'' event. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1993
