Arnold, F. and Spreng, S. (1994). Balloon-borne mass spectrometer measurements of HCL and HF in the winter Arctic stratosphere. Geophysical Research Letters 21: doi: 10.1029/93GL03230. issn: 0094-8276.

Altitude profiles of the stratospheric trace gases HCl and HF were simultaneously measured for the first time on 13 February 1992 at ESRANGE (68 ¿N, 20 ¿E, Northern Sweden) with a balloon-borne CIMS (Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry)-instrument. The measured maximum volume mixing ratios (VMR's) for HCl and HF are 2 ppbv and 0.6 ppbv, respectively, at 25 km. A comparison of the observed HCl VMR's with data from mid-latitudes and model predictions shows, that the present VMR's of HCl are similar to VMR's of out-of-vortex situations. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1994
