Chou, C.-L., Shaw, D.M. and Crocket, J.H. (1983). Siderophile trace elements in the Earth's oceanic crust and upper mantle. In: Proceedings of the Thirteenth lunar and planetary science conference, Part 2. Boynton, W.V. and Ahrens, T.J. (Editors), American Geophysical Union, Washington. 88: A507-A518.
Re, Ir, and Au determined in oceanic basalts. Ir, Os, Pd, Pt, Ru, and Rh are depleted in basalts relative to peridotites. Concentrations of siderophile elements in the upper mantle are higher than that expected from core-mantle equilibrium. Interpretation of a lower partition ratio of Re under extremely dry and reducing conditions in the lunar interior.--Modified journal abstract.
