Solar wind data obtained with plasma experiment on the Prognoz 7 satellite have been reanalyzed to study the dependence of &agr; particle and proton differential flow on both proton velocity Vp and the type of solar wind stream. It is found that velocity difference, ΔV=‖V&agr;‖-‖Vp‖, increases with increasing Vp in streams from coronal holes and decreases in high-velocity streams behind interplanetary shocks and in coronal mass ejections. Thus the Prognoz 7 data do not contradict the results of earlier papers and confirm the conclusion that at 1 AU there is strong differential streaming in fast streams from coronal holes but not in fast streams from coronal mass ejections. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1994 |
