|
The coexisting olivine, clinopyroxene and glass of five samples collected from a lava lake at temperatures of 1050 degrees -1160 degrees C were analyzed for Ni by electron probe; full chemical analyses are given for three samples of pumice and microprobe analyses are tabulated for three olivines and two clinopyroxenes. The results for Ni suggest that its distribution between these phases obeys the thermodynamic partition law, and that in favorable conditions the distribution coefficients permit the estimation of the crystallization temperature to |
