Heroux et al. 1975
Heroux, L., Cohen, M. and Higgins, J.E. (1975). Improved calculations of electron densities between 110 and 300 km derived from solar EUV fluxes of August 23, 1972. Journal of Geophysical Research 80: doi: 10.1029/JA080i034p04732. issn: 0148-0227.

The electron densities previously calculated by Heroux et al. (1974) have been recalculated by using a new set of reaction rate coefficients and the same solar fluxes of August 23, 1972. In comparison with the previously calculated densities that were consistently about 30% less than the ionosonde densities the recalculated densities become greater than the ionosonde densities by 30% at altitudes above 200 km. The overall agreement of ¿30% between the recalculated and ionosonde values of densities indicates that the solar EUV fluxes measured on this date are compatible with the experimental values of ionospheric electron densities measured on the same date.
