Fehsenfeld, F.C., Howard, C.J., Harrop, W.J. and Ferguson, E.E. (1975). Laboratory measurments of the reactions of NO+(H2O) with H and OH and their significance for D region ion chemistry. Journal of Geophysical Research 80: doi: 10.1029/JA080i016p02229. issn: 0148-0227.

The reactions NO+(H2O)+OH→H3O+NO2 and NO+(H2O)+H→H3O++NO have been studied at 300¿K in the NOAA flowing afterglow system and found to have rate constants of k10?10-10 cm3/s and k9?7¿10-12 cm3/s. This eliminates both reactions from being significant NO+(H2O) loss processes between 60 and 80 km. In addition, the reaction NO+(H2O)+HO2→H3O++NO3, which has not been measured, can apparently be neglected because of the low HO2 abundance. Currently known reaction processes indicate that the dominant D region NO+(H2O) loss process is hydration to NO+(H2O)2, either directly or via an NO+(H2O)(CO2) intermediate.
