In this paper we present two new radar auroral substorm signatures that can be unambiguously identified only by means of a phased array radar. The two radar signatures, observed at Homer, Alaska, are shown to have visual auroral counterparts in the forms of a westward-traveling surge in the premidnight sector and eastward motions in the morning sector.
