Recent rocket experimental data resulted in the determination of small-scale fluctuations in the nighttime electron density measurement. These data were measured by a Langmuir probe and a plasma noise probe in the altitude region 86--124 km over Thumba, India. Analysis of these data shows strong evidence that the observed fluctuations are mainly due to neutral turbulence in the altitude region of 86--115 km. However, from 115 to 124 km there is observed a spectrum that is not easily identified as neutral turbulence and conceivably could be representative of plasma turbulence. |
