Ionospheric electron content data contain frequency components which are produced by nonlinear processes in the solar-terrestrial environment. Nonlinear analysis, known as multiplicative homomorphic filtering, is used to identify these components in the data. The homomorphic analysis is used on electron content data taken at Honolulu and Stanford. Mixing frequencies produced by solar rotation, by tidal winds, and by unknown sources have been isolated.
