Schminder, R. and Kürschner, D. (1979). Low-frequency drift measurements in the upper mesopause region: A useful approach to regular high-atmosphere neutral wind observtions. Journal of Geophysical Research 84: doi: 10.1029/JA080i012p07353. issn: 0148-0227.

Results obtained during autumn and winter of 1978--1979 are used to demonstrate that low-frequency drift measurements provide a useful means of permanently monitoring the circulation and tidal wind systems in the upper mesopause region (90--100 km) and represent a valuable supplement to the ground-based instrumental pool, particularly with regard to the forthcoming middle atmosphere program (MAP).
