Measurements taken by the Atmosphere Explorer - C satellite are used to determine rate coefficients for the reactions O+(2D)+N2k1 N2++O, O+(2D)+N2k2 O+(4S) +N2, and O+(2D)+N2k3 NO++N. The following results are obtained: k1?+1-0.5)¿10-10 cm3 s-1, k2?(times)=10-11 cm3 s-1, and k3<5.5¿10-11 cm3 s-1. Laboratory measurements of k1 and k3 have recently been published. These yielded k1=1.5¿10-10 cmu3 s-1 and k3 =1.3¿10-11 cm3 s-1, in agreement with the atmospheric determination.
