The magnetic field produced by the auroral current system is computed along magnetic local time meridians at two altitudes, 300 and 500 km. The computation is based on a model of a three-dimensional current system that consists of field-aligned currents and ionospheric currents. The input data set is constructed by using magnetic field data obtained from the International Magnetospheric Study (IMS) Alaska meridian chain of magnetic observatories. The latitudinal distribution of the field-aligned currents and the associated Y magnetic field component are also discussed.
