The solar spectrum in the range 2000-3100 A¿ has been observed in 0.12-A¿ resolution in the stratosphere by means of a balloon-borne spectrometer. Two flights are reported, on April 21, 1977, and April 19, 1978, and the data from the two flights agree within 4% in the spectral regions of most accurate measurement. Absolute irradiance values at 40-km altitude are presented. By extrapolation to zero optical depth, comparisons are made to two other recent measurements. |
