The effects of neutral-particle collisions on current-driven electrostatic ion cyclotron (EIC) waves are studied in a Q machine with a cesium (Cs+) plasma. We find that even when vin≈0.3&OHgr;ci, EIC waves of substantial amplitude (Δn/n of several percent) can be excited. |
