Entries and exits of the compressional magnetic wave segments of the Pioneer Venus Orbiter data are identified as crossings of a foreshock boundary. When these crossings are plotted in an appropriate coordinate system, they form scatter diagrams representing the geometry of a composite boundary covering all solar wind conditions of the sample. When the orientation of the boundary for the average interplanetary magnetic field direction at Venus is extracted, the boundary is similar, although not identical within present uncertainties, to that found for the analogous foreshock boundary of the earth. ¿American Geophysical Union 1987
