We have examined the relative ion density fluctuations measured in situ by a rocket-based ion probe. These fluctuations are directly related to turbulent intensities, in this case from the region 63 km - 72 km altitude. We have identified fractality in these data having dimensions around 5. The result is remarkably similar to that obtained from radar data at 2.75 MHz, and we hypothesize that this might indicate that, for the data sets in questions, the radar echoes were due to volume scattering from eddies rather than partial reflections. ¿American Geophysical Union 1991
