CO2 fluxes between the ocean and the atmosphere were measured off a beach on Sable Island by using the eddy correlation method. These gase fluxes were measured directly over a short enough time period and a local enough region that weather and other conditions which determine the fluxes were nearly constant. Values for the fluxes measured were about 0.8 μmol/m2 s out of the ocean.
