We consider the simplest model describing the shape and strength of warm and cold core rings. The model has an upper layer of constant potential vorticity and a lower layer at rest. The Coriolis parameter is taken to be constant. The flows are strong enough so that the interface between the two fluids rises to the surface. We describe the velocity and interface depth profiles and compare the model to field data.
