Stratospheric inventories and distributions for CCl3F, CCl2F2, CCl4, and N2O in the northern hemisphere for May, August, and November 1976 are presented. The November inventories for CCl3F, CCl2F2, CCl4, and N2O were 186Gg, 279 Gg, 163 Gg, and 169 Tg, respectively. From 1974 to 1976 the concentration of CCl3F in the stratosphere of the northern hemisphere increased at an average rate of 21%¿7% per year. This may be compared with an estimated CCl3F emission rate, prior to 1976, of 15% per year.
