Measurement of ozone and nitric oxide in a nuclear cloud 7 days after the explosion are reported. No measurable increase above the ambient density of either ozone or nitric oxide was found. Results from a chemistry model of the cloud do not agree with the measurement unless 'nonstandard' assumptions are made with regard to the operating chemical processes. A number of possible explanations of the results are discussed.
