Stull, R.B. and Kraus, E.B. (1987). The transilient model of the upper ocean. Journal of Geophysical Research 92: doi: 10.1029/JC080i010p10745. issn: 0148-0227.

The transilient method deals with the parameterization of turbulent transports by a spectrum of eddies that transport fluid properties over a range of distances. After explanation and discussion of the concept the results of a prediction are tested against an observed development in the upper ocean. This is followed by comparisons between the transilient model and other forms of mixed-layer or upper ocean modeling. ¿American Geophysical Union 1987
