A trajectory simulation approach has been used to calculate sea spray dispersion above the ocean surface as a function of droplet size, emission rate, and meteorological conditions. By numerically simulating the stochastic turbulent trajectories of a large number of ejected sea spray droplets of various sizes and ejection speeds, the vertical profile of sea spray concentration was deduced from the average residence time of the droplets in each of a set of horizontal layers within the first 10 m above the ocean surface. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1993 |
