Production spectra of sea spray droplets obtained by Smith et al. <1993> at various wind velocities are used in conjunction with a sharp dropoff on the large-radius side proposed by Wu <1990, 1993>. Most spray droplets described by these composite spectra are shown to be suspended. The maximum possible flux of water from these droplets which escape the sea is shown to be insignificant. ¿ 1998 American Geophysical Union |
