Earlier studies based on electric field change data have presented evidence for the frequent occurrence of continuing current in positive cloud-to-ground (+CG) lightning. We present photographic verification of continuing current form four +CG flashes. The polarity of these flashes was determined from coincidence of fast electric field waveforms with the return stroke image from streak-film photographs and television recordings. Luminosity from continuing current is usually apparent during the initial slow field change after the return stroke but is absent during later stages of this field change.
