We give a first-order, analytic estimate of the dynamical change in column ozone density as a function of temperature change in the low stratosphere. It is found that for each 1% (~2¿C) cooling averaged over the lower stratosphere, the column ozone density can be expected to decrease by approximately 7%, if it can be assumed that such a temperature change is induced by changes in wave transports.
