This paper provides a detailed description of the current operational SAGE II multichannel data inversion algorithm implemented at NASA Langley Research Center, Hampton, Virginia. This algorithm is compared to an independently developed inversion algorithm from the Laboratory of Atmospheric Optics, University of Lille, Lille, France. Inverted aerosol and ozone profiles from these two algorithms are shown to be similar within their respective uncertainties. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1989 |
