Rusch, D.W., Clancy, R.T., McCormick, M.P. and Zawodny, J.M. (1990). A comparison of Solar Mesosphere Explorer and stratosphere aerosol and gas experiment II ozone densities near the stratopause. Journal of Geophysical Research 95: doi: 10.1029/89JD02874. issn: 0148-0227.

Ozone measurements made by the Ultraviolet Spectrometer on the Solar Mesosphere Explorer and those from the Stratosphere Aerosol and Gas Experiment II are compared at 1.0 mbar for the time period from October 1984, to December 1986. A model of the diurnal variation of ozone is used to correct for the difference in local times of the two measurements. The two instruments agree to within 5% at all latitudes considered in the comparison. Further, no significant divergence is found between the data sets for the time period of overlap. The results support the accuracy and precision of each instrument and the accuracy of ozone trends derived over the 1982--1986 period from Solar Mesosphere Explorer data. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1990
