Observtaions of the OH(9,4) and O2A(0,1) atmospheric band emissions at 7750&Agr; and 8645&Agr;, respectively, made between 1983 and 1986, have been analyzed to give atmospheric temperatures for the corresponding emission heights. The annual mean temperatures are found to be 193 K and 198 K for the OH and O2 emissions, respectively. The OH rotational temperature shows an annual oscillation of 2.3 K amplitude with a maximum in late March, and the semiannual component shows equinoctial maxima with an amplitude of 3.0 K. The O2-derived temperture shows a 2.5 K annual component maximizing in May. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1990 |
