In a previous paper, a simple method was derived for determining the minimum convex closed surface in which the sources of a given scalar acoustic far-field pattern can be located. In the present paper, we derive the corresponding method for determining the minimum convex surface for a vector electromagnetic far-field pattern. We apply the method to find the minimum source region for the far-field pattern of a circular-disk antenna. ¿ 2000 American Geophysical Union
