The interpretation of the averaged spectrum of the cosmic background at long (meter, decameter, and hectometer) wavelengths with a cloudy model of the diffuse ionized gas of the galaxy is presented. It is concluded that there is strong spatial variation of synchrotron emissivity in the interstellar medium. It was found that spectrum of extragalactic background radiation outside the galactic absorption disk does not have an evident low-frequency depression at least down to 1 MHz. ¿ 2001 American Geophysical Union |
