Adeniyi, J.O. and Radicella, S.M. (1998). Electron density and height at the F1 region minimum gradient at high solar activity for an equatorial station. Radio Science 33: doi: 10.1029/98RS02041. issn: 0048-6604.

The occurrence of f0F1 at high solar activity is very scanty. The occurrence of the L condition is what predominates during this solar epoch. Electron density NF1 and the height hF1 at the point of minimum gradient in ionospheric profiles at high solar activity were studied for an equatorial station. NF1 is dependent on solar zenith angle (x). The cos(x) indexes for winter, spring, summer, and autumn were found to be 0.78, 0.59, 0.76, and 0.65, respectively. Height hF1 showed no diurnal or seasonal effects and has an average value of 167 km. The results obtained were compared with those of low solar activity from a previous study. ¿ 1998 American Geophysical Union
