Solar occulation data gathered by the French solar instrument on board the OSO-8 satellite have been used to determine the ozone number density distribution between about 50 and 70 km. The solar extinction measurements were made near the Mg II h (2803 ¿) and Mg II k (2796 ¿) solar emission lines. The derived ozone number density profiles at 22 ¿ and 38 ¿N latitude during July 1975 are presented and compared with other observations and model predictions.
