Based on data obtained during the period 1949--1967, Woollard and others reported large secular variation of gravity in Mexico. Data obtained since 1971, using LaCoste-Romberg gravimeters, indicate that no significant variation is occurring between Mexico City and Acapulco and Monterrey and Mexico City at present. Local secular variation of gravity reported for Mexico City is continuing and is well correlated with the sinking (due to water withdrawal) of the city.
