Visacro, S. (2004). A representative curve for lightning current waveshape of first negative stroke. Geophysical Research Letters 31: doi: 10.1029/2004GL019642. issn: 0094-8276.

A new approach is proposed for determining a representative lightning current waveshape for first negative strokes. This approach is applied to current wave registers obtained by direct measurement at Morro do Cachimbo Station, Brazil. The resulting curve is able to represent actual patterns of lightning current waves better than the traditional Berger's curve and therefore seems to be more appropriate for application in lightning studies.
