The first European Space Weather Week (ESWW) from 29 November to 3 December 2004 drew together some 200 space weather specialists at the European Space Research and Technology Centre (ESTEC) in Noordwijk, Netherlands. The meeting, modeled closely after Space Weather Week at NOAA's Space Environment Center in Boulder, Colorado, highlighted the relationship of the space environment to navigation and telecommunications, geomagnetically induced currents and other ground effects, satellite drag and global change, and predictions of solar activity, as well as space weather education and outreach. |
