Refractory spherules in the Murchision carbonaceous chondrite show a range of compositions similar to those of coexisting irregular inclusions. However, the shape and internal texture of the spherules are suggestive of formation from a liquid. The coexistence of these two types of refractory inclusions suggests that the spherules were formed by melting of previously condensed irregular inclusions. If so, they can be properly termed chondrules.
