Analysis of long path atmospheric absorption spectra and of laboratory absorption spectra in the 1600 cm-1 region has resulted in the identification of atmospheric quadrupole lines of O2 in its fundamental vibrational band within the electronic ground state. This led to the identification of similar atmospheric quadrupole lines of N2 in the 2400 cm-1 region. |
