The effects of the space environment on technical systems, in space and on Earth's surface, are of growing interest around the world. However, the means by which individual nations and groups of nations develop procedures and methods for dealing with the science and engineering aspects of space weather are vastly different across the globe, as might be expected. The second European Space Weather Week provided an opportunity for European investigator groups and European industry to learn the latest research results and discuss funding and coordination throughout the European Commission.
