The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency along with state and tribal agencies will conduct a three-year study of the nation's lakes, the EPA announced on 6 December. The study will assess the state of health of the lakes and determine the relative importance of key stressors on lake systems, such as nutrients and pathogens.
