A sentence in the news article "Proposed U.S. Budget Request Reduces Funding for Some Science Agencies" in the 21 February issue (Eos 87(8), 2006) included an incorrect statement. In Fiscal Year 2007, the U.S. Geological Survey budget would decline by two percent, to $945 million.
