Description
In the mid-1800's Charles Darwin made observations about the evolution of coral reef formations. One important thing to remember is that he made his determinations based on above surface observations only (such as what is visible in this image) and had no evidence as to what lay below the surface of the water. |

Instructions Compare this image with one showing bathymetry to understand the difficulties Darwin faced when hypothesizing about seamount evolution. |
