A multicomponent seismic laboratory experiment was conducted to examine the seismic signature of a simulated ore-body structure. The data were processed using a new form of controlled direction reception (CDR) filter, which operates in tau-p-polarisation space, so as to isolate the P and S waves. The four CDR sections showed PP, SS, PS and SP wave reflections, and all mode conversions. From these, the geometry and reflectivity of the ore-body can be reconstructed. With single component recording and processing, imaging of the ore is extremely difficult. ¿ American Geophysical Union 1989 |
