This paper provides a presentation of the method used at Saint-Santin for calculating ionospheric currents. We have compared the horizontal integrated currents with ground magnetic data, and we observe the same abnormal circulation as found by Mayaud (1965--1979). This result raises the problem of the global Sq system pattern, which cannot be identified with our Saint-Santin data alone.
