An examination of the Umkehr ozone data of Mt. Abu from 1953 onwards shows that at the upper stratosphere there is an increasing trend of ozone with increasing level of solar activity. At the lower stratosphere, however, this trend is seen only when analysis is made with the monthly averaged values of ozone separately for monthly averaged values of ozone separately for separate solar cycle. The ozone values of one solar cycle are found to be different from those of others. From the trend of variation of ozone at the upper and the lower stratosphere, it appears that the changes due to dynamical processes in the lower stratosphere are in phase with the changes due to photochemical processes in the upper stratosphere.
