A geotomograph of an in-situ fractured granite rockmass has been quantitatively interpreted to yield estimates of porosity distribution. This was accomplished by comparing the tomograph-measured electromagnetic properties of the rock with laboratory measurements of the rock's electromagnetic properties at various known water contents. These estimates of water content are interpreted as values of rockmass porosity because the formation is fully saturated.
